I've had a lot of requests for some more detail about theLuci Pedicure Chairs andthere really isn't enough space on the product page to cram all the features of the chair in. Here is a handy blog to help you with choosing and even installing apedicure station or stations into your business.
Cost & Value
Lets start at the finish, ultimately money plays a big role in what youpurchasein the end. However, it's very important to compare this with value at the same time. Spa chairs on the UK market look great, but offer little or no features. For instance, I looked online at some other models against the Luci:
Overall for the £250 difference from the nearest match, you get some serious Pedi Power with the Luci, currently we have a 7% discount offer when you signup to our e-newsletter, so that price would be £1673.07, a difference of only £124.07. Obviously getting a 3 year warranty and all the other features is more than worth it. In addition, we offer free kerbside delivery and 2 man delivery for only £30 to standard areas.
So whether this is your first purchase, or second, lets go into some more detail about the above features:
Adjustable Foot Rest: Height adjustable footrest means you can raise it up and down or to the side, while one foot soaks. This means you can sit upright and work with good posture. Here is our footrest in action:
Manicure Bowls/Arms: Help you maximise your treatment space with a luxury manicure service. Even if you end up putting a few spa chairs tightly together, this arm space is great to hold a drink. One point that is really important to remember, make sure the arms fold back so people can get on and offer easily, clients do have a tendency to get a little Godzilla at times and could damage something, or themselves.
LED Light Bath:When activating the jet bath, the LED sequence begins that lights up the whole bowl. This make an excellent and attractive feature, for other clients in the salon that maybe thinking about dipping a toe in future.
Plumbed: Or unplumbed? This feature depends on the setup of your building, for a plumbed chair you would need -
1x Hot Water Feed (or heating tank with 11L capacity)
1x Cold Water Feed
1x Waste Pipe Outlet
2x Plug Sockets (1 for the base, 1 for the chair top)
Heating the water and manually topping up and draining the bowl. We have always been big fans of the plumbed system because it is a lot less work for you day to day. However, we have created a specialist unplumbed chair called the Lumina, because in some cases having a plumbed setup is not possible in the building due to regulations.
Jet Bath: Another term you may have come across is Pipe-less or Pipeless Jet Bath, in regards to our chair, pipe-less means that the circulation of water for the jet bath, goes no further into the water system than behind the fan cover, before entering the waste pipe.
Why does this matter? Some models of chair that have Jacuzzi style nozzles, have large expensive pumping systems, bringing in the water and pumping it back out under pressure for a harder massage. However, this dirty water is now within the system that is used by numerous customers. This can mean cleaning with a foam disinfectant and running the jet for 10-20 mins, to ensure that it is kept clean (always check with LA regarding your requirements). With a surface mounted fan, you just clean behind the grill - easy.
Should you require repairs to a pump years later, a large Jacuzzi pumping system is around 3x the price of our surface mounted fans!
Now imagine that system is gone, you would have to wait for gravity to take all the water away or have the pedi-spa built up onto a platform to assist with drainage. Fine for a shower, no good for a pedi-spa. No power drain, no purchase. We upgraded the Luci power drain to a high strength fan, take a look at the results:
Electric Seat/Backrest: No levers on the Luci, the seat backrest and distance from the footrest can be adjusted via the handset. Great for shorter or taller clients.
3 Year Warranty:No machine is perfect, and if you do have a problem our 3 year warranty will have you covered. More details of our warranty can be found here.
Shiatsu Massage: or finger pressure translated from Japanese, has been widely used since the early 70's and is fantastic at restoring energy and helping sore muscles. Luckily we have a chair in our showroom, which I of course use personally from time to time. I can tell you without a doubt, compared to the old fashioned roller ball massage, which you find in most lower cost chairs, the Shiatsu system is leaps ahead.
A dedicated robot, will tend to your needs depending on your personal desire, whereas a roller ball systems simply rotate in one direction and will not adjust to your height, so a shorter client may end up having the top of their head rubbed, ouch. Or if they recline the chair the massage points are no longer in the correct positions, pointless.
The Shiatsu system will also adjust in width, so if you have a larger back or would like the points adjusted, then don't hold back.
Leg Massage: Using an inflatable airbag system, a compressor will inflate to the size of your legs and apply reducing levels of pressure. During the process you can feel a gentle squeeze and once you get off the chair and that bloods starts pumping, it really feels great on this large muscle group.
Over Spill: A simple over-spill system could really save the day and should be required on all pedicure spa chairs, but you would be very surprised how many do not. Have you ever forgot the water running when speaking to a client? By the time your get back a small flood has occurred. The over spill takes the water back into the waste system and stops any damage occurring.
Music System: The Luci Pedicure Chair features a music system to let clients drift off to their favourite songs. Easily load a USB or MicroSD into the side port and plug in some headphones.
Free Stool: Could there be more? Yes, there really is - the pedicure chair comes with a free stool, specially designed with the therapist in mind. The firm rubber backrest spins round to create an armrest, something bucket stools cannot do. Its set at a lower height compared to other chairs, so your at the perfect working height. You can always use the chair in normal treatments as well.
I have listed the big ones above, features such as:
Pop up plug
Extendable Spray/Jet Hose
Should be as standard, they are really easy to include features that make the product better. If they are missing, steer clear.
You have to consider the sizes, if you had the chair at maximum recline, with a therapist you would need 2.3m of space. Normally you would not have the chair with that much recline because you would be almost flat, so you can make do with a lot less space.
Despite its appearance the Luci is called compact for a very good reason, for a chair with its list of electronic features, its length is only 132cm. From a side profile you can really see what I mean.
If you have surface mounted pipes from an old shampoo chair for example, a great trick is to unscrew the connectors at the back of the chair, feed them underneath and do the same with the power cables. Now the chair will work without any cables or pipes sticking out at all. Need more info on doing this? Contact our team.
I really hope helps you in your decision when making a purchase and we would of course love for you to buy a Luci Pedicure Chair :) Click Below to buy today:
